Teacher Cards and Services
Teacher Cards
- This card is available to individuals who are involved in education at any level, including home-schooling parents, student teachers, daycare teachers and teachers in public and private schools.
- Individuals who apply for a Teacher Card may also apply for a separate card for personal use.
- Teacher Cards can only be used for curriculum-related materials, not for personal reading or viewing interests. The library reserves the right to withdraw this privilege if abused by the individual.
- Items checked out on the Teacher Card have a four-week loan period. Materials may be renewed once. There are no fines for overdue materials. However, action will be taken if materials are consistently not returned by the due date as this limits access to the items by other library users.
- After 30 days the library will bill for items that are not returned, lost or damaged.
- Holds can be placed with a Teacher Card for curriculum-related materials only. These holds will be handled in the same manner as with a personal card.
- Only one Teacher Card will be permitted for a library user in the Winnefox Library System. Individuals will need to choose her or her primary library for teacher services. A Teacher Card can be used in all Winnefox libraries. Each library will determine the local level of service.
Teacher Collections
- The Fond du Lac Public Library offers a valuable service to educators by preparing collections of materials on a particular topic. A subject collection will be compiled with a week's notice. The individual can indicate the reading level, the format, the subject and the date needed.
- A Teacher Card makes the Big Book story time collection available. Big Books cannot be placed on hold in the catalog but can be accessed through the Children's Room staff.
- The size of a collection may be limited in the high-demand subject areas.
- Requests for teacher collections can be made in person at the Children's Desk in the library, by phone at (920) 929-7080, ext. 127, or by our online request form.
