The authors of the 120 recommended works include Charlotte Bronte, Sophocles, Thomas Hardy, Benjamin Franklin, Evelyn Waugh, James Thurber, Voltaire and more. Website of the Month
Reader Connection
www.fdlpl.org/readers.html
Updated regularly by Fond du Lac Library staff, the Reader Connection page provides up-to-date information on Best Sellers and on New Books, CD Books and DVDs at the Fond du Lac Public Library, and Reading Suggestions. The first page offers annotated reviews of two new books at the library and a list of popular authors and titles expected to be published in the next month. Users can click on any title and be linked to the catalog in order to make a reserve. The site also has information on Book Clubs and numerous resources for book lovers. Of particular help in finding titles in a series are links to NovelList and Stop, You’re Killing Me. The latter is a quick search tool for mystery authors and titles. Once a mystery author is selected, all their books are listed by series and publication date. NovelList is a broader search tool covering all types of fiction and suggesting “read-a-likes” for numerous authors. NovelList is limited to persons with a Fond du Lac Public Library card. |
